July fun!

Daddy, the kids and I had a fun but hot afternoon picking blueberries. Unfortunately, our fun was cut short due to me having an ovarian cyst to rupture.

Asher was such a trooper picking in the hot sun! He enjoyed picking and eating but picked a gallon himself!

The kids and I enjoyed making some butterscotch cookies for some friends of our that are serving our wonderful country in Kuwait.

Braxton (age 8) learned how to cut grass this Summer and has been a big help to his mommy!

It's the holiday season

This year we decided to go to Neely Farms in Thorsby, AL to pick and cut our own Christmas tree.  It was a great experience and we all had fun. Here are a few images from our excursion.  It was quite overcast but at least the temperature was bearable.

Braxton was SO excited about sawing the tree down.  He practices a lot around the house.

The boys got a full tour of the farm...that was right up their alley.

Halloween Costumes

Well since it is one day until December I thought it was just about time to post the kids Halloween Costume Pictures this year....better late than never.  Braxton was Captain Hook, Asher was Peter Pan and Tennyson was Tinker Bell.

After school we took a walk along the creek in the bottom pasture.  I attempted to take a few pics of the kids but just as we began Tennyson got bit by a fire ant and then the boys heard the UPS man pull up and they ran up to meet him.  So, this is what we got.  Asher & Tennyson had so much fun picking wildflowers.  I am always amazed at how fast they grow. Ages:  Braxton 7, Asher 5, Tennyson 2.

I threw in two of Braxton because it is not often that I get him to slow down.

New Orleans Weekend Trip

We went to New Orleans October 8-11 for a reptile show.  It was a nice trip and we were able to enjoy the Cajun Spirit and food at a local jazz festival.  The kids enjoyed dancing and watching the band play spoons on  his chest and listen to the accordian.  We all enjoyed a taxi ride and people watching as we strolled the streets of downtown in the evening.  The kids had a great time with Miss Elizabeth swimming, playing laser tag, and visiting the aquarium in the riverfront district, while Mark and I worked the reptile show.  They came and visited us at the show and got to see the Bird and Croc Experience.

In this pic below we were on our way home and stopped off the side of the road just to see if we could see an aligator.  As we opened the car doors we saw a huge splash and were amazed to find this aligator so close.  He was attempting to get a dead fish on the ramp. Miss Elizabeth is pictured with Mark and the kids.

Upon returning home Mark and I were unloading and Tennyson woke up and came out and slept in a bin while we finished our work.

California Vacation 2010

We have not been to visit our California family in three years so this was a past due, exciting, and jam packed 6 days- September 8-14, 2010.
Wednesday: Our flight there was very nice. Braxton, Asher and I worked on school lessons the entire flight.  Tennyson sat with her daddy and she did so well and took a great nap.  Whe we arrived we checked into our hotel, went to Chuck and Susan's house and go tour snakes settled into Chuck's workshop.  Susan made a delicious spaghetti dinner for all the family.
Thursday: We had a good nice sleep and a freee breakfast at our hotel.  Then Chuck rode around with us and Mark showed the children places where he grew up and had a bad bike jumping accident.  This was neat because Braxton has taken on the pleasure of riding and jumping with his bike. Later that morning we meet up with Linda, and Madison and went to the Steven Birch Aquarium.

Friday, we had breakfast with Linda and Deb at my favorite restaurant Park House Eatery...I dream of the food prepared from this place...DELICIOUS!!! Saturday, Susan took the kids to the park until the rest of the family came up to meet them. Also, thank you Susan for taking the majority of the pictures on this post.

After the Reptile Show we went back to the hotel and found everyone having fun swimming. 

We all got ready and Brenda took us on a great tour of Downtown Disney.  It is a fun, free admission Disney experience.  You have to admit that it would be awesome to live near something as cool as this.

Sunday, Mark and I worked the second day of the Reptile Show and the family visited Disneyland.

Thank all of you who carefully watched our children so we could work the reptile show!

Monday, we got up and drove to see where Mark lived in Pacific Beach when I first visited CA.  We ate at the Firehouse Cafe..the kids loved watching the firetrucks as well as the surfers and strolling along the boardwalk.

Here are three pictures of the kids in the cockpit...the female pilot approached us and asked if she could take them into the cockpit andtake there picture.  They LOVED this Delta experience.
